Network Advisor

Приєднався 9 бер 2014
The Network Advisor is a resource for those seeking how-to information on managing IT infrastructure. It is just as much weighted toward Telecommunications as it is IP-based Networks. This is because Telecom and IT are now inseparable because of Convergence. Since the Telephony Networks were the original Wide-Area Networks, understanding telecommunications basics help to lay the foundations for concepts that shape the TCP/IP Networks.

Some of the tests that can (currently) be run with the Nextlab Netmeter: * nPerf Internet Speed Measurement (aka speed...

If you didn't know what these are (as I didn't) you might be confused thinking they were part of shoddy structured data cabling system. However, as I found out (just recently) they're actually part of the HVAC system. And, mounting them in this haphazard fashion is common (as far as I can tell). Until this encounter, I had no idea what these were. I took a video and posted it to Tiktok with #wt...

You have a Kull sense of humor 😂great information
Bro made the vid quality low so no one could mute
maximum how much length Lan wire Support from mobile to router/lap
Everyone is showing this set up with laptops I have two desktops, I want to connect one monitor to two hard drives. What cables do I need besides KVM switch? I don't have many USB ports open. Thanks
Thanks for the work and info. While connected, the smartphone does not probably get charged, correct? This would mean that a person is limited by the battery state of charge?
wireless charging might be an option.
There are adapters with power pass trough
@@krapfen170 Yes, I did find it out just yesterday and purchased one. 🙂 I can't wait to see, how it works. I purchased higher ASUS router as well, to see if the problem gets eliminated. Thanks for the response.
What about window 10 or 11
Putty.exe
Do you have any idea if anything can be done if given the following error? Copied all files into a folder like you suggest in video, but when I go to open the install file, I get “this app can’t run on your pc. To find a version for your pc, check with the software publisher” It’s a Mario game from 1995 I was wanting to show my kiddos.
I might not be the one to ask but windows used to have a "compatibility mode" where you could tell it to treat an old application as though it was In a windows 95 or XP environment.
Letzte Müll, kaufe die die von Metz...
I watched three videos straight on what kvm switch is and how does it work no one explained properly but you nailed imao! Cool
That's quite a compliment. Thank you. ☺
Why doesn't anybody do a KVM switch with DisplayPort?
Hmmm... hadn't noticed. 🤔
I get this error over and over, what can we do: "The disk in drive A is not formatted"
Windows 11 reads nvme like floppy disk nothing changed.
Can we use one of the Laptop in "Project" mode- instead of mirroring using this KVM
hey mate i want to give your commission, but i do not trust the link you post (it's not you, it's me). if you have a promo code etc that i can use - so you get the benefit of the affiliate link that may perhaps be of benefit to you, while also not costing me anything, apart from the effort of typing it in. which i'm happy to do.
That's really thoughtful mate, but no worries. The affiliate commissions are trivial. But, it was nice that you were smart enough to recognize that. ☺
@@NetworkAdvisor ok so I worked out the solution. Log in to Amazon first, and THEN click the link. Now you're safe from phishing.
Your the man 👍
If the line your toning is live, check the other jack(looks like the two cables were pulled at same time). If that's live too, does it look like the outlet is part of original install (looks like all the other jacks in the office?) or added on later (oh we forgot to put a location here)? if added after, most likely find it on or near the last patch panel. To confirm, check the last panel. See if anything plugged in. If you find the other cable, check if the port next to it is plugged in too. If so, perform the scream test. Unplug the patch cable and see if anybody screams because they just lost the internet 😉 also see if your toner works now (always check that your toner is working before every use. 9V batteries die). yah or nah? if nah, plug patch cable back in. monitor your phone🤫
The AP25 is a piece of garbage, it runs WAY TO HOT, it pulls to much power, and the RF output on this device is so low. The Ap22 is way better.
Interesting perspective. I'll have to keep an eye on it (the ap25). I don't have the AP22, but I do have the ap22D which is quickly becoming my favorite AP out of the line up.so far.
@@NetworkAdvisor I've installed boxes of the little "d " unit they are awesome wall mount units. The 25 is power hungy heat monster that is just over priced and over marketed..
Some USB floppy drives are limited to the standard 1.44 MB MS-DOS floppies and can't even read the "older" 720 kB MS-DOS floppies If Windows asks for a driver most USB drives can be forced to work without their "official" drivers by manually selecting the "Generic NEC Floppy Disk" driver (the same used by internal floppy drives) but I had one (I-something, I can't remember if it was Imation or Iomega) that needed it's own very specific drivers...

5:08 did you just leak your ip address?????
Hmmm maybe. 🤔
yeah yeah, you just like comparison with a iphone se2 and a iphone 15 pro max WTF?
Thanks for watching 😀
cradle point ibr600c as backup?
Good eye. Yes, I believe so.
I used belkin usb c to ethernet and type c(pd charge) and it works great. I have cancelled my wifi plan and bought sim plan with unlimited data capped at 35mbps which is enough for family of 3 for us. The phone i used is fold 4 which was my previous phone and kept as backup.
I live alone so i don't need a wifi since i already got a sim unlimited data capped at 15Mbit/s with 43ms Ping but my problem is with the ping i get 63ms while on ps5 inside an online game. Do you think the adapter would lower the ping back to 43ms ?
this colours can tell you if is single mode or multmode?
Did you ever work with Token Ring?
Holy cow... yes. hateful, bulky stuff. Every once in a great while, I'll run across a bayonet 9a cable (tokenring) jack on a wall that someone has never bothered to remove.😆
Question, can the phone receive an internet connection through this configuration?
Yea, that was originally how I discovered this idea. I was trying to get internet on my phone from a data wall outlet (instead of wifi or 4g)
I started playing some of the splinter cell games, and man seeing Cisco pop up all the time is hilarious.
Thank you!
May gain little more speed by using the ethernet cable to laptop from router if other people on the wifi
WELL, how can charge phone tho
Mag charger
I am looking for a 3.5 floppy drive , you nailed it I hope / / I got a stack of em with family pictures on them / / I want them / on my Computer I'm looking to best buy and got geek squad they got maybe a clue witch makes me mad be on belief ( they should know ) I Like your ( buy old one ) idea / so I will buy one and you took it a step farther so I can get pics off of them /// I put this video in my favorites and will see if this works out TY for video
Good luck. Hope it works out. Pictures are so valuable.
Thank you very much for this video! I have the exact situation you described and was tried of manually unplugging / replugging computers!
Yep, that's exactly what a KVM is for. Glad the video helped. Thanks for the feedback. 😊
*Maybe the "Ethernet tethering" function has another name? Because I can't find anything similar on my Honor 90 or my Huawei Pura 70* 😥
Great question. That phone was a Samsung FE20. Maybe it's a. Extra feature. 🤷♂️
😂😂😂
Whats the use of the usbport in the router? Does it still work if you could just plug a usb to type c cable?
My old cradlepoint router had a USB port.and the phone could.be used as a modem that way So, you may be right for other models too
@@NetworkAdvisor it doesn't work on my phone.. I think there's a certain cable for it. I'm currently using a charging cable. I guess that's why.
@@NetworkAdvisor pls chinese subtitile 🙏 thank you🎉
Isn't your connection indicated by the. <-> on the top bar menu on your smartphone? What if I don't get that?
Yes, you're right. But those icons might vary depending on the manufacturer.
@@NetworkAdvisor How can I tell whether my Moto g phone is using the network adapter or getting information through the air waves? (I turn the Wifi off, because the Wifi in the office isn't working correctly) I don't see any icon come up, when I do what you describe in the video here. Thanks so much
@@NetworkAdvisor I tried to carry out what you describe with my moto G phone. But the network adapter lights come on, but don't blink. I can't get the phone to use the ethernet link. Can you advise? Thanks so much.
You'll chew through your phone battery so fast this way
I'm pretty sure, yup actually 100% sure if i saw this i would have dropped a HUGE. WTF is this mess sentence out loud ! Good video though.
Which is exactly what I did when I first saw this! 😆

Are white and blue data cables the same>
They are the same Category 5e. Blue was intended for data and white was for dialtone.
@@NetworkAdvisor Also (I aint doign this yet for a few years but i'm plannign it) I'm building a service to claim shifts, track warnings, demotions, suspensions, employment temrinations, track activity and more. I want to know what server rack, what type of cables and servers are very good but bugest-friendly
thanks but where is the two part of this video?

Can’t you do all the same with raspberry pi and powerbank shield?
Yes, quite possible. And for small outfits that would be fine. Larger fleets of service techs (ie. Comcast, AT&T) are going to want a standard box they issue to everyone in the field.
Show using ur internet through phone thought not in pc bcz me too i have done this same + i got samsung phone too .....but the thing is i cant use internet on my phone tats why i need proof .........
Panduit all day. Who runs Cat5 anymore though??
Circuit extensions are one example.
Are you not used to construction sites then? I work for a commercial and industrial low voltage cabling company, and while some of our projects are rewiring existing buildings, we are often on new construction sites.
As a low voltage technician who used to be an electrical apprentice, I can tell you that that is definitely not, “Safe.” Volt pens are meant to confirm the presence of current, but they are not reliable confirmation of the absence of current. They are a handy first step, but the only safe way to test current is by using a multimeter and actually get a reading of how many volts that wire is pushing.
What does the rainbow light mean ?
Rainbow light? 🤔
Still looks unprofessional and sloppy. A small 12-24 punch down would look nice and more serviceable.
